Hi there!

My name is Siobhan Power and I'm a yoga Instructor for children, teens and adults with ten years’ experience in childcare and coaching. I founded Calmer Kids Yoga because I strongly believe that by teaching our children mindfulness and yoga, we're giving them the tools to successfully face the obstacles of everyday life.

My passion for yoga started five years ago where I was able to personally feel the life changing benefits. It was then that I pursued my dream to go to India and received classical training through Ganga Devi of the Himalayan Yoga Institute. I returned to South Africa and was fortunate enough to be a part of Yoga Stars International, a social enterprise which sends teachers into schools and communities less fortunate and not exposed to yoga. I held classes for 250 children a week aged 8 months to 12 years. I completed my teacher training for children and children with special needs through Yoga4Kids and recently completed a Yoga Teacher training for Teens with Charlotta Martinus of Teen Yoga. Currently, I teach up to 200 children a week in inner city schools in London and plan to expand this in 2017.

Teaching adults’ yoga is another passion of mine and I'm trained in Ashtanga and Vinyasa which is the style in which I conduct my classes. During class I place emphasis on breath, concentration and movement which, I believe, is the basis to practicing asana. I recently started teaching mum and baby yoga and plan to expand on pre and post-natal yoga as I believe that the skills that I acquire from teaching and studying will be invaluable to my own approaching motherhood.

This is what I hope to pass on to my students. I'm so fortunate to be able to combine my passion of teaching yoga and my love and commitment for educating children and reap the amazing daily rewards I get from such a fulfilling role.

Calmer Kids Yoga

Calmer Kids Yoga provides bespoke yoga classes for schools in London. Lessons can be adapted to extend themes to support your curriculum and daily teaching routines in order to make yoga more accessible to toddlers, children and teachers. 

PE classes, special needs classes, after-school clubs, breakfast clubs, lunch clubs, PPA cover and private classes are offered to suit the schools' curriculum and structure at affordable rates. Workshops and yoga classes are provided for teachers.
